With 158 acres of wooded wonderland to wander through, you and your pup can choose from several different routes to explore. This 18th century landscape garden was created between 1738 and 1773 by Charles Hamilton, the ninth son of the Sixth Earl of Abercorn. When creating this park, Hamilton wanted to create a series of breathtaking views akin to the landscapes you see in paintings.
With breathtaking views, lakes, gothic towers and follies, vineyards and more, this dog walking spot truly is like no other in Surrey. This is an on-lead dog walk, but with so many things to explore, both you and your furry friend is sure to enjoy all that’s on offer.
Windsor Great Park offers some fantastic lakeside walks and is home to wild forests, open fields and a wide range of wildlife. Whether you opt for a short route or one of the longer jaunts, you’ll find lots of good quality trails that will take you and your pup back to nature. Dogs can roam free for most of their time in Great Windsor Park, but there are also signposted areas where your pooch will need to be on a lead.
Hatchlands Park is a great place to get your dog’s paws padding. With woodland trails, open parkland, a dog-friendly cafe, it’s got all the ingredients for a fun day out for all. There are two main walks on offer here, the Long Walk, and the Wix Woods Walk. The former is a circular walk where you’ll be able to see everything the Park has to offer, while the Wix Woods Walk is shorter and cuts across the Estate and passes the children’s play area.
