My name is Lindsey, and I am the proud and passionate owner of Barking Mad Peterborough, providing home-from-home dog boarding for your beloved pets. If you are looking for a warm and welcoming home to place your dog while you enjoy your break away, look no further! We offer many dog care services in Peterborough, with a key one being home-from-home dog boarding. Our mission is to provide your dog with the best possible care while you are away.
If you’re searching for dog sitting near me or dog boarding near me in the Peterborough areas, then you’ve come to the right place! At Barking Mad, we specialise in creating a warm and welcoming environment for your dog, where they can enjoy their stay with our wonderful host families. My mission is to deliver the best possible care for your furry friend, allowing you to enjoy your break with complete peace of mind.
I will personally meet you and your dog to get to know you both, while giving lots of doggy fuss and belly rubs. I take ultimate care and pay great attention to every detail about your dog, down to the tiniest of details to understand their likes, dislikes, eating and sleeping routines, commands, play, favourite toys and even their quirky habits.
This introduction allows me to match your dog with one of our loving Barking Mad hosts who will be their best companion. A trial sleepover with the matched host will ensure your dog is comfortable and happy in their new surroundings ahead of a longer stay. So, you’ll have absolutely nothing to worry about while you’re away, and can focus on enjoying your break, know your dog is having a lovely holiday as well!
Stress-Free Drop-Off and Pick-Up
When it’s time for your holiday, I will personally chauffeur your dog to and from their holiday home, complete with a suitcase of their belongings and a personalised care schedule. I will also ensure that they settle in alright. Throughout their stay, you’ll receive delightful “pup-dates” from the host families, who love sharing updates about the fun your dog is having. You’ll even get a postcard home telling you how much fun they have had, detailing their adventures!
Our fantastic community of hosts are fully vetted through a meticulous process to ensure we meet all insurance and licensing requirements and that they primarily love dogs and want to provide a super ‘home-from-home’ for the dogs in their care. On top of this, I am personally undertaking my own Animal Welfare Diploma and will soon start my Animal Behaviour and Training qualification. Our hosts are extremely special and incredible at what they do, with an inbuilt love of caring for dogs. They will take care of yours as you would, while replicating your dog’s usual routine.
Choosing home boarding over traditional kennels can significantly enhance your dog’s experience. Home boarding reduces stress, as dogs often feel more comfortable in a familiar and home-like environment than in the unfamiliar surroundings of a kennel. In contrast to kennels, where dogs may be housed in large groups with minimal individual attention, our service allows for personalised one-on-one care tailored to each dog’s unique personality. We strive to maintain your dog’s regular routine, including feeding, playtime, and bedtime, which helps them feel secure and relaxed during their stay. This thoughtful approach not only alleviates anxiety but also ensures your dog enjoys their time away from home.
Our Commitment to Animal Welfare
Animal welfare is at the core of our philosophy at Barking Mad Dog Care. We are deeply committed to providing the highest standards of care for all dogs, and this dedication drives our business practices. We believe in continuous education, and I am actively pursuing further qualifications in animal welfare and behaviour to enhance my knowledge and skills. Our commitment extends beyond our boarding services, as we actively advocate for animals in the community and support local shelters and rescue organisations. By sharing our philosophy and ongoing efforts, we hope to build a strong sense of trust with our clients.
At Barking Mad Dog Care, we believe that every dog deserves a loving and nurturing environment while their owners are away. Our unique home-from-home boarding ensures that your pet receives individualised attention and care tailored specifically to their needs. With a focus on personalised care, we take the time to understand your dog’s preferences and routines, ensuring they feel at home in a comfortable and safe environment. Our experienced hosts are not just caregivers; they are passionate dog lovers who treat your pets like family, providing a level of affection and companionship that traditional kennels simply cannot match. By prioritising your dog’s comfort and well-being, we aim to create a stress-free experience for both you and your furry friend.
I live in the small village of Langtoft, just outside of Peterborough, with my husband Jonathan. I love all animals, but especially dogs! I am an experienced dog owner and have always been blessed with having them in my life, from our family King Charles Cavalier (Cassie) when I was 5 to my slightly crazy Dalmatian (Molly). Until October 2022, Jonathan and I had our own pride and joy, Keo, our Weimaraner. He was the most amazing, kind, tall, super loving dog and reached the ripe old age of 13.5 years old, but that’s not surprising given he lived like a king (and that is the truth!).
Having spent 27 years in the insurance sector, I decided it was time to leave the corporate world to focus on something that would truly add value to people’s lives. Having been a previous long-standing customer of Barking Mad, when the opportunity came along to buy the business I loved so much, I grabbed it with both paws (so to speak!). It has been the best career choice ever.
I recognize the importance of trust, amazing relationships, and knowing your dog is in safe hands when they are not in yours, and I am committed to providing that assurance to you.
I can’t wait to meet you and your pride and joy.
