My name is Lindsey, and I am the proud and passionate owner of Barking Mad which provides home from home dog boarding for your pride and joy, giving them a loving home to stay with wonderful caring host families as a fantastic alternative to kennels.
If you are reading this, you must be looking for a warm and welcoming home to place your dog whilst you enjoy your break away. Look no further! I offer many dog care services in Peterborough with a key one being home from home dog boarding. My mission is to provide your pride and joy with the best possible care whilst you are away.
I will personally come and meet you and your dog and get to know you all, whilst being partial to giving lots of doggy fuss and belly rubs at the same time. I take ultimate care and pay great attention to everything about them, down to the tiniest of details to understand their likes, dislikes, eating and sleeping routines, commands, play, favourite toys and even their quirky habits.
This means I can match your dog with one of my loving ‘Barking Mad hosts’ who will be the best companion. A trial sleepover with the matched host will ensure your dog is comfortable and happy in their new surroundings ahead of a longer stay. When your holiday time comes around, I will chauffer your dog to and from their holiday home along with their suitcase of belongings and personalised schedule. I will ensure they are settled, and you will get wonderful ‘pup-dates’ on how they are enjoying themselves which the host families adore providing! You’ll even get a postcard home telling you how much fun they have had.
My fantastic community of hosts are fully vetted through a meticulous process to ensure we meet all insurance and licensing requirements and that they primarily love dogs and want to provide a super ‘home from home’. On top of this I am personally undertaking my own Animal Welfare Diploma and will soon start my Animal Behaviour and Training qualification. My hosts are extremely special and incredible at what they do and have an inbuilt love of caring for dogs and will take care of yours as you would, whilst replicating your dog’s usual routine.
I live in the small village of Langtoft, just outside of Peterborough with my husband Jonathan. I love all animals, but especially dogs! I am an experienced dog owner and have always been blessed with having them in my life, from our family King Charles Cavalier (Cassie) when I was 5 and my slightly crazy Dalmatian (Molly). Until October 2022, Jonathan and I had our own pride and joy; Keo our Weimaraner. He was the most amazing, kind, tall, super loving dog and reached the ripe old age of 13.5 years old, but that’s not surprising given he lived like a king (and that is the truth!).
Having spent 27 years in the Insurance sector, I decided it was time to leave the corporate world to focus on something that would truly add value to people’s lives. Having been a previous long-standing customer of Barking Mad, when the opportunity came along to buy the business I loved so much, I grabbed it with both paws (so to speak!). It has been the best career choice ever.
I recognise the importance of trust, amazing relationships and knowing your dog is in safe hands when they are not in yours, and I am committed to providing that assurance to you.
