Hi, I’m Emily and I’m the proud owner of Barking Mad dog boarding in Bristol, Bath and the surrounding areas. In mid 2024 I relocated from the South East to the South West after falling in love with the region. I now live in a cottage in the Chew Valley area with my partner Harry and our pooch, Foley. She is an adorable and quirky Boston terrier cross Chihuahua with a missing tooth and partial blindness in one eye but that doesn’t stop her! We love to take her on walks around the beautiful Chew Valley lake, for a good fetch session at Victoria Park or for a long muddy walk in the nearby woods. After a nice long walk there’s nothing I like more than snuggling on the sofa with Foley on my lap, a cup of tea in my hand and the fire roaring in front of us.
I have always loved animals and especially dogs so when the opportunity to become a Barking Mad franchisee presented itself I jumped at the chance! Before starting this exciting venture I worked mainly in human resources and admin for a legal firm. In the past I have also worked in sales, customer services and even in catering. Working in different industries throughout the years has given me valuable transferable skills I have been able to apply to my business.
I have had my doggo for 8 years and I know that dogs aren’t just pets, they are a part of the family and they deserve the best. When we meet with you to register your dog initially, we will ask you to tell us everything about your best friend. We can then match your dog to the host best suited to provide for their requirements and give the host a Pet Schedule to follow so that your usual routine is followed.
Your dog will have a meet and greet trial stay with their host, prior to the main holiday. The host will love and care for your dog just as you do and will look forward to seeing them again, and your dog will have a great holiday and be excited to see the host next time!
We wait to see your dog has settled before we leave it with the host and send you a photo. We check the next day and email you to reassure you. The host often takes photos during the holiday, for us to pass on to you. The host also helps your dog to complete a postcard to let you know what they have been up to their holiday!
