At Barking Mad Dog Care, we are all in agreement that the best part of our job is the positive difference which we make to the lives of other dog lovers. Every day our hosts tell us how much they enjoy having friendly dogs to stay and the positive impact dog companionship has on their health and well-being. We were therefore delighted when the opportunity arose to work with Silver Surfers, to help to further spread the word about our volunteer dog cuddling opportunity!
Silver Surfers is an entertaining, informative lifestyle site and social network. They aim to fuel ‘fun for the young at heart’ utilising their wealth of experience gained from working, hobbies, interests and living. As many of our host families are active retirees, who have plenty of time to devote to doggy holidaymakers, we decided that this was an ideal partnership for us. You can read the full article on the Silver Surfers’ website here.
It’s really easy to find out more about becoming a Barking Mad dog sitting host! Find your local branch here and make a call to one of our friendly, dog sitting professionals. The first stage is to ask you some basic questions to find out if we think that hosting would be right for you. Don’t worry, it’s all fairly common sense! We just need to make sure that you have an enclosed secure garden, have no resident children of under five in the home, have sufficient time to devote to visiting dogs and have a real love of canines, as well as a few other similar questions.
If we mutually agree that becoming a Barking Mad host would be ideal for you, the next stage is to arrange a home visit. We will come out to see you and chat in more detail about what is involved. We’re a very friendly bunch and always bond with our hosts over our shared love of dogs.
Who are our volunteer dog cuddling hosts?
Why not check out our host dog sitter page and read some of their stories? Our hosts are all real dog lovers just like you and really missed having a dog in their lives. Many of our hosts were dogless, whereas some had a very sociable and friendly dog who was just crying out for an occasional playmate to brighten up their lives. We feel very honoured to be able to provide the wonderful benefits of dog companionship where it is needed.
