Barking Mad announce May Host of the Month Winner
Becoming a host for Barking Mad Dog Care comes with the reward of the companionship of lovely dogs and the chance to meet up with like minded dog lovers. Host families are at the very heart of Barking Mad’s dog holiday network and are very much valued. The leading dog sitters wanted to create a tribute to the amazing love for dogs and dedication shown by the host community and this led to the creation of the Host of the Month Award.
Tina Darlington, owner/operator of Barking Mad Bromley/Croydon couldn’t wait to nominate our Host of the Month for May, the amazing host Helen Taylor from Bromley. Tina enthuses,
“Helen has hosted for Barking Mad Bromley for just over four years. She lives with her husband, John and children Ella (16) and Jack (12), who all simply love dogs. They are a really lovely family.
Part time physiotherapist Helen loves nothing more than having a gorgeous dog to stay with the family as often as possible. The family have a lovely bunny rabbit who is moved around the house depending on whether the holiday dog is interested or not!
Helen has an absolute favourite dog holidaymaker, a mini Schnauzer called Pablo. She loves looking after him so much that once a year she books a cottage in the UK and takes Pablo along too. This is an arrangement that works really well as the customer loves not only the adoration that Pablo receives but also the professional support and flexibility provided by Barking Mad, in case Helen is not available at a specific time.
Helen loves to spread the word about how enjoyable hosting for Barking Mad is. She has recommended hosting to so many people known to either herself or her daughter and was delighted to have been rewarded with vouchers for their favourite shops (girls will be girls!)
Helen’s son, Jack, loves a cuddle with any of the four legged friends that stay with them. His delight is clear to see in the photo below with Golden Retriever Steffi, when she enjoyed a dog holiday with the family. Jack may well be the next Tom Daley, as he is a national champion in his age range and spends many hours at the Crystal Palace Diving Pool. He will be diving in Croatia this summer representing Great Britain Juniors.
Teenage daughter Ella enjoys spending time with her Mum and volunteers weekly at her local Park Run, where they run 5K. She loves accompanying her Mum on dog walks too. Last Summer we all joined together to partake in the ‘Big Walkies in the Park’ 5K to raise funds for the RSPCA. I couldn’t be without Helen and her family, they are everything you hope for in a host family.”
