We believe every dog deserves the very best care whilst away from their owners, and fully understand that dogs are precious family members too. We offer 5* one-to-one dog home boarding in one of our Wirral based host’s home, where your dog’s daily routines are maintained, and they’re given undivided attention. Dog’s that stay with us feel like they’re on holiday too!

How we provide and ensure our quality of service and care:
Prior to your dog’s first stay we will visit you and your dog. This initial meeting is so important as it allows us to get to know your dog, which helps us to match them with the best possible host for their needs. We select the ideal host family from our portfolio of trusted dog lovers, who provide a loving and attentive environment with one-to-one dog care, where your dog’s normal routines are maintained. We put together a comprehensive guide to your dog containing all this important information.
Our team of hosts are carefully chosen by us, we have a meticulous vetting process and ensure they meet all insurance and licensing requirements. They have joined Barking Mad Wirral for a variety of reasons, some are retired or maybe work from home and love having a dog for part-time companionship, walks and fun. Others have lost their dog and just feel that they can’t commit to owning another full time. Some may have a dog that thrives on having another four-legged friend for company, whatever their situation you can be guaranteed they are special people who are hosting for the love of dogs, and give your precious pooch the luxury bespoke care they deserve.
Your dog will be chauffeured by us to and from their holiday home, and travel how they would normally travel in your own vehicle (subject to legal restrictions). We make sure your dog is settled with their host and send you a message to put your mind at rest, leaving you to enjoy your holiday.
Whilst your dog is in our care your dog’s holiday host has full 24-hour support from our Wirral based team, no matter how big or small the query is.
If your dog’s first holiday with us is 4 nights or more we trial them to make sure your dog, our host, and you, are all happy before their main stay.

Dog Wedding Chaperone
Our dog chaperone service for weddings on the Wirral has quickly become one of our most popular services here at Barking Mad Wirral. The best photo in the wedding album is the one of the happy couple and their four legged best friend, and we’re experts in making that happen.
The Wirral has many fabulous wedding venues and we have chaperoned dogs at most of them, including Hillbark Hotel, Thornton Hall Hotel, Crabwell Manor, Craxton Wood, Inglewood Manor, Hulme Hall, Leasowe Castle, Mere Brook House, Brook Hall Hotel, The Little Fox and we are Thornton Manor’s preferred Dog Wedding Chaperone service. However, we’re not limited to Wirral venues and regularly dog chaperone at venues around the North West and North Wales.
Whether you’re looking for someone to bring your dog for photos, or you’re looking for a full 2-night 3-day package, our 5* rated dog care and professional chaperone service is completely bespoke, and allows you to relax and enjoy your special day in the knowledge your V.I.P. wedding guest is in safe hands.
With our 1 and 2-night packages we offer either your dog home boarding with us or, for no additional cost, staying with your dog in your home.
Pet Taxi
Our Wirral pet taxi service is the perfect way of transporting your beloved animal companion when you’re not able to. Whether it’s an appointment at the vets, a pampering session at the groomers, or maybe you need your dog taking to a family members house or doggie day care, we can transport your pet to and from any home or business, making Barking Mad Wirral’s pet taxi service the perfect solution for you.
We’re here to take the hassle out of getting your beloved pet to their destination and can provide you with complete peace of mind. We are fully insured, are experts in handling animals and will treat your pet as if they were our own. Your pet will travel safely in our adapted hybrid vehicle, and we like to try and transport animals how they would normally travel in your own vehicle (subject to legal restrictions).
We also offer a vet appointment chaperone service where, in addition to taxiing them, we will also accompany your pet for their appointment in place of you.
NB: The below prices are for Wirral based journeys. We offer journeys outside of the Wirral, including a UK pet transport / courier service. Please get in touch for more details.
Pet Pop-Ins / Visits
Being a pet parent can be challenging when you can’t be in two places at once. No matter how big or small your pet is, this service is perfect when your pet is home alone and needs someone to pop-in to feed them, change their water, let them out, change the litter tray or even just a welfare check. We are also available to make your home appear occupied whilst you’re away.
We currently only offer this service in postcodes CH44, CH45, CH46 2, CH46 3. Other Wirral locations we may be able to offer 1 hour pet sits as an alternative.
We charge £12 per visit up to 30 minutes, 10% discount for a package of 10 or more visits. Minimum booking is 2 pop-ins. Dates not required upfront but subject to availability at the time of booking.
House/Pet Sitting
This is staying in your home whilst you are away to care for your pets and look after your home. This is a perfect choice for pets that prefer to stay in the comfort of their own home and can be more cost effective if you own several pets.
We offer this service either hourly, half daily or nightly.
Flexible & bespoke
We may be able to offer other pet care services not featured on our website, please feel free to contact us to discuss your individual requirements.
Are you retired? Do you work from home? Maybe you’ve lost a dog and feel like you can’t commit to owning another one right now. Even if you’re none of these things but would still love to have a dog part-time for companionship, walks and fun.
