My Background

Like many people, my first real experience of dog boarding, was when we, as a family, were looking for someone to look after our precious Labrador Robbie, when we booked a family holiday.  At that time, the only option was a kennel service, where many dogs are boarded together. I learnt the hard way that multiple boarding can have a very negative affect on dogs, particularly those who are used to the one to one care and attention that you give them. This often results in your dog feeling very lonely and extremely anxious.  Two weeks later, Robbie came back to us half his weight and very distressed.  We vowed we would never leave him again, and we certainly didn’t.

Although this was many years ago, I have never forgotten how distressing this was for all.  If only there was a service like Barking Mad in those days.

That is why, after many years working in the corporate world, I have given that up and with Barking Mad behind me, I am determined to create an outstanding and exclusive one to one dog home boarding service that you can trust to look after your precious pet, as an alternative to kennels.
